Hi!  My name is Joy, and I’m so honored that you are here!  I’m an adventurous beauty chaser, and love to seek the deeper meaning in pretty much every moment in life.  I’ve learned that boredom is simply failing to find meaning in whatever place and time I find myself in.  I’m not bored often these days! 

My husband Josh and I live in the Charlotte, North Carolina area and own a historic homestead with a beautiful barn. We have three amazing daughters, and are working towards adoption with our foster daughter of three years. Yep, four girls! 

Most of my photo sessions take place right in our own yard - it’s the best :). Couples and families can come here for their photos, and walk right around the corner to visit Renfrow Hardware, Carolina Beer Temple, or Brakeman’s Coffee.  Bribery anyone?

In my decades of experience producing weddings and events in family business (most currently at The Alexander Homestead), I have worked with hundreds of photographers. It brings me insane joy to watch the great ones pour their whole selves into seeking out the meaningful moments, and casting them into beautiful memories for their couples.  I have been drawn to this profession for much of my life!

What to expect when we meet for a session?  Well, I am personable, laid back, and I adore people! Come as you are!  I enjoy working with kids, seniors, couples, and families, and do take a limited number of weddings per year!
